“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.”   ~ Plutarch

“Communication is the real work of leadership.” ~ Nitin Nohria

A writer, editor, and professor of multiple disciplines, Raini’s underlying passion is mentoring others toward success, whether through formal teaching of the writing process, professional communication, or through personal writing and volunteerism.

Professionally, her editorial career began as a junior in high school when she edited essays and resumes for classmates. This early initiative proved helpful in her professional career, which spans multiple fields, all of which shared the common requirement of effective written and oral communication. Now, with over 26 years of business experience, she currently provides professional editorial services to a diverse, virtually global community and teaches as an adjunct professor of rhetoric/composition and humanities at Collin County Community College in Frisco, Texas, and of business and accounting communication at The University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindall School of Management in Richardson, Texas.

Personally, Raini’s academic research interest is in the field of rhetoric, technology and cultural studies, more specifically in visual rhetoric and how media informs identity, gender, and consumerism. She is also an advocate of youth and adult literacy, education reform, ecological intelligence, human and aboriginal rights, the humane treatment of animals, vegetarian/veganism, music, film, yoga, naps, love, and cheeze whiz.

Her personal writing includes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, journalling, and reflective articles on being vegetarian in cattle country.
